How our attachments keep us from tapping into the power of the universe

I recently had a profound spiritual experience that changed my life. I first talked about it in my August 8 blogging entry. Here is the second part of that experience. I hope you find it valuable:

There are two totally opposite realms. There is the oneness and the separateness. There is the realm of circumstances and the realm of love. In the separateness, the experience of love is irrelevant. All that matters are the circumstances. In the realm of oneness, the circumstances are irrelevant, the only thing that matters is love.

In the realm of circumstances, life is about fighting, resisting, hanging on and withdrawing. This is the realm of fear, upset and suffering. In the realm of oneness, life is about letting go, healing and connecting with God. This is the realm of love, joy, peace, happiness and miracles.

The oneness, God, and trusting – A profound experience

I just had an experience that was very profound, but very difficult to put into words. I was reminded of how we put our focus outside of ourselves, trying to make life work. We think that this is the key to happiness, but it isn’t. Life will always bring us an endless stream of challenges.

So I asked, how does trusting in God change things? I don’t remember the answer, but I suddenly experienced a profound state of oneness. In that oneness, the circumstances of life became totally irrelevant. I became very centered and taped into the power of the universe. The circumstances didn’t change, they disappeared. I changed.

Maybe it’s not about trusting. Maybe it’s about connecting with the oneness. The oneness is God. Trusting and letting go is merely the path to oneness and God.

We don’t experience life outside of us. We experience it inside.

At any moment you are experiencing life in a very specific way. This inner experience can only happen inside of you. The circumstances of your life are outside, but how you experience them is inside. When you are full of joy, it’s inside of you. When you are full of fear and upset, it’s inside.

We don’t notice that we are having an internal experience because this experience is not a thing. It’s more of an energy and it happens in a realm beyond words. For example, you can accurately describe a chocolate chip cookie as a thing, but can you accurately describe the experience of eating one? No. You can’t because it’s an inner experience. There are no words that can accurately describe how you feel at any moment.

Since our inner experience is not a thing, we don’t notice that it exists, but it does exist. It shapes our actions and determines what happens in our lives. When you are in the experience of love, great things happen. When you are in a state of fear and upset, negative things happen.

A short video that demonstrates the power of love

I just watched this short, yet powerful video on the power and opportunity of love. It demonstrates something special that is available to all of us. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Why St. Francis of Assisi sought to be nothing

I recently watched a short video by Eckhart Tolle. He talked about how St. Francis of Assisi sought to be nothing. This is actually very profound. It is the exact opposite of our ego. In our ego we want to be special.

The ego is driven by the automatic avoidance of a childhood hurt. This hurt is the suppressed emotion of feeling worthless, not good enough, not worth loving, a failure, or some other form of feeling not okay. It’s not the truth. It’s just a hurt, but it’s a hurt that runs our lives. In a subconscious attempt to avoid this hurt, we do everything we can to be the opposite, to be some form of “special.”

The automatic avoidance of this hurt creates a state of fear, upset and tunnel vision. It destroys our ability to see clearly and forces destructive behavior. If you could heal this hurt and get rid of the ego, there would be nothing left but love. In this energy of love, you experience a profound state of oneness. You radiate a very positive energy and great things happen around you. You also tap into a power much greater than you. This is what St. Francis experienced in his desire to be nothing.
